If you have a hood over your range, or microwave hood, how long has it been since you cleaned the filters?
If it has been over a year, you should take the time to clean the filters sparkling clean or replace them if too bad. While your at it you may want to shut off the electric to the hood and clean everywhere you can get too. If it is a complex hood, you may have to disassemble it to get to all the areas where the grease has accumulated. You may be surprised to find the cause of the bad smell is gone.
A good idea to have some vinegar to apply during and when you are done to give a fresh smell.
